Trossen's Hubertuslay Auslese is an exceptional sweet wine, with wonderful fresh acidity to balance. Intense and luscious, it is a wonderfully pure expression of a great Mosel vineyard. Precise green apple and honey nose; lemon curd palate; sweet, with balancing fresh acidity and a long finish. The Hubertuslay vineyard on the banks of the Mosel is steep and high, with slate soils - an exceptional site. Auslese is a 'selected harvest' where only the best, ripest grapes are used to create a balanced, sweet wine. Delicious to drink on release, but will only grow in complexity with five, ten or more years of cellaring. Can be drunk on its own, with fruit desserts, or even with lobster.
